A new client contacted Blue Ridge with a unique challenge.  They had developed a device which utilized laser technology to measure emissions remotely.  To achieve this, they required a reflective mirror with an internal pyramid structure where the walls were precisely positioned and optically flat.  The shape precluded a machining operation to achieve the desired characteristics. 

Blue Ridge refined casting techniques to produce the parts needed. 

Aluminum optical products will never make up a large part of our business.  Our achievement here demonstrates the surface quality and precision achievable at significant volumes with the pressure casting process.
